Rewire

Have you ever wanted to be Robot?
HAVE YOU EVER WANTED TO BE A

ROBOT?HAVE YOU EVER WANTED TO BE A
ROBOT?

Imagine if you were able to make your brain think only good things or happy things. How cool would it be to be able to plug in your brain and learn anything you want! Robots have wires and other parts that make them smart. You have wires in your brain too – and you can teach them to be awesome!

WHAT IS RE:WIRE?WHAT IS
RE:WIRE?

IDEA 1
You may not know this but you can change your brain to be smarter, faster, happier, or even sillier if you want. You can get smarter by THINKING ABOUT SMART THINGS. You can get faster, jump higher, stand up straighter if you PRACTICE so that you can TRAIN YOUR BRAIN.

IDEA 2
What are some things you can do tonight to RE-WIRE? ReWire means GET BETTER. You can be awesome tonight!

IDEA 3
How do you train your brain? Just like you train your muscles at EMA. If running can make you run faster, do you know what reading can do for you? If practicing your front kick can help you become an awesome martial artist, how do you think you can get smarter? PRACTICE.

IDEA 4
(Quick idea for a quick start): You can do it! (do you believe that?) You can learn anything if you PRACTICE. Who’s going to do awesome tonight!

PRACTICE! PRACTICE!

(Practice Ideas are extras you can use to challenge students at the end of class or randomly throughout class)

RE:THINK HOW DO WE THINK?

IDEA 1
Do you know what part of our body we use for thinking? That’s right, it’s the BRAIN. Our brain sees and hears and smells and touches everything and tells us how to think.

Let’s practice using our imagination right now – Let’s pretend you were an astronaut – do you think it takes a lot of PRACTICE to be an astronaut? What kinds of things would you need to learn? If you want to be an awesome martial artist it is going to take PRACTICE as well. What are some things we should practice today to become awesome EMA Kids?

PRACTICE 1
Praise children when they follow instructions and remind them that their BRAIN helped them remember.

PRACTICE 2
“Who wants to make their brain bigger this week? If you want to make your brain bigger you have to practice. Who is going to practice EMA this week at home?

RE:TOOL

IDEA 1
Hey kids, this month we are learning about PRACTICING and getting smarter. Last week we talked about making your brain smarter. THIS WEEK we are learning about making GOOD CHOICES. Have you ever eaten so much candy that you got sick? Me too. Is it fun being sick? (NO!). AT EMA we want to learn how to make GOOD CHOICES. Sometimes candy is fun but is it good to have candy right before bed? (NO!). Do you want to be strong? Can you get strong if you only eat candy or
Mac & Cheese? (No). What are some foods you can eat to help you get super strong?

IDEA 2
Hey kids, do you like watching TV/playing a video game/watching movies?Wouldn’t it be fun to play video games/watch TV/watch movies all the time? Really? Who can tell us why it’s not good to play video games all day, every day? That’s right – it’s important to go outside, and eat good food that doesn’t make you sick, and get
lots of sleep (without whining or crying at bedtime!) so that we can be STRONG and HAPPY and an EMA Superstar!

RE:START

YOU CAN START BEING MORE AWESOME TODAY!
This week we continue teaching children about the importance of starting new habits. Young children are experiencing rapid changes in brain structure and are reaching their first importance mental milestones (as early as 4 years of age). Don’t underestimate their capacity for learning and make sure you challenge them (in earshot of
their parents!)

IDEA 1
How many of us know how to ride a bike? Wow, how did you learn that? Once upon a time you didn’t know how to ride a bike, did you? But then, one day, you learned how to ride a bike with TRAINING wheels. You PRACTICED and PRACTICED and now you know how to ride a 3/2 wheeler – Good for you! You can learn anything if you practice. Today you are going to learn how to ____________. Do you think you’ll know how the first time? (Probably not). Well then how will you ever learn how to ____________? PRACTICE. When you PRACTICE you can LEARN NEW THINGS!

  • The instructors at Excel Chilliwack are excellent. They are great with children, teens and adults. I've seen how much the kids just love their instructors. They are great role models - strict, but caring and loving. The training area is massive and allows plenty of space for training. Highly recommend.

  • My husband and I decided we wanted our girls in something that will teach them discipline, strength, and ways to defend themselves. After looking at a few other places we decided on Excel and it was the best choice ever. The teachers and student helpers are simply amazing and truly care about the children and helping them. We have found our forever home with Excel!

  • I would rate higher if i could. Amazing instructors that actually care about the kids achieving goals and succeeding. I have taken my child to other Karate classes before and it was basically let the kids run around for 30 minutes. Excel is totally different and my child loves going. Thank-you to Adam and his amazing team.
